Explain your silly English habits? What is disrespectful about a moth.

It's a phobia not an English habit. People are using my phobia against me because of a decision that I made that they disagreed with.

Jon, you've let them take advantage of you by giving them (including me) the attention and pleasure of exploiting your phobia. If you would've just used the foes list, it would've saved you a lot of trouble. I could put a moth back in my sig and you really can't do anything about it, but I'm not going to waste time with that. You're just dealing with it poorly.

Yes, it's the victims fault for not ignoring the people attacking them, rather than the aggressors fault. Rolling Eyes

If I use the foes list then I can't moderate their forum usage and considering a large number of the people abusing this information, are people who I've had to ban in the past, I really can't just ignore them. By the same logic, nobody on forum would ever be banned because anyone causing trouble could just be ignored...

scared is the wrong word. Phobic. There is a huge difference.

In the real world, you're going to experience more agressive/harmful people than the ones on these forums lul and I didn't put the blame on you, no where did I say that. What I said is that your reaction to those people was poor. If you can't handle your phobias, then what can I say.

And you're not the only mod on the forums. If you put for example, Aid, on your foes list, there's other mods who aren't phobic to moths and can moderate his posts. Also, define "causing trouble" .... judging by your logic, causing trouble to you is putting people's phobias on the forums? There's more trouble (i.e insults/spam/inappropriate pics) than a freakin' pic of a moth.

I actually legit like my picture of a moth playing the bongos, what if I want it in my signature/ava because I like it? Oh no, it's harassment. #banned.

What's next, going to ban cats from sigs/avatars because they offend pants?
I'd like to see Andy's actual response to this, because I can't see him just agreeing to ban people for having an insects in their sigs. He unbanned Sam multiple times, so clearly he saw something wrong with the ban before.

    +1 zemlyr.

If there's a genuine reason for it like someone actually has a picture of a moth playing the bongos that they want as their signature then I would request that they remove it but if they didn't want to then I would take no further action. When it's done vindictively it's unacceptable.

Well if you have not been diagnosed....Then you can't go around stating that you have a phobia unless declared by a mental health professional.

Clearly stated in a journal that a phobia may only be declared on a person after a psychological assessment which is assessed by a mental health professional.

When you're phobic, you don't need it to be confirmed by a mental health professional to know it.

Phobias are highly individualized in symptoms and severity and cannot be self-diagnosed. Ohkay.

My psychology teacher has a phd. He told me that I'm phobic based on the symptoms I described to him. It's not an official mental health professional but he knows enough to diagnose it. Why are we even discussing this? It's irrelevant. The fact is that people are exploiting a phobia of mine and making the forums an unpleasant place to be for me.
