Reduction in people rwting for membership = Less people buying gold since alot more demand for cheaper prices = Gold farmers have alot less use.

Jagex implemented bonds to stop goldfarming, but exactly how will this happen?

It revolves around two markets: the goldsellers and Grand Exchange.

Right now, the price of gold is roughly $0.25/mil.

The price of a bond (based off it's market value) is roughly $0.6/mil.

Well, what does this mean? Right now, to get more gold for the same price, you would buy from the goldsellers. Although this can run a risk of getting scammed, there are plenty of trusted sellers out there to buy from. This makes it, that as of now, buying from the goldsellers is still worth it.

What happens when the prices change though? Well right now, the price of a bond is drastically going up. As this price increases, the price-per-mil goes down. If the bonds reach a price of 20m Pennys, then the rate of a bond will be the same as the rate goldsellers are selling at. Now, between the two options, which would you rather pick? One offers a safe environment, no risk of a ban and faster service, all for the same price.

This is the problem goldsellers may soon encounter. The only way these goldsellers could keep business up, is to drop their rate. Once this is done though, the rate of bonds may also decrease, resulting in a continuous affect. It will reach a point though, that this median is maintained. The faster this is achieved, the less of an impact it will have on the goldsellers.

Overall, this provides a safe alternative to get gold, but for a higher price. This is a price many people will soon be willing to pay.

I have never bought GP. I worked hard for my half-billion so this is good for me. Not really fair if others buy it and I work my ass off for it. Plus, I can RWT legally now.

It won't destroy the goldfarming industry completely, but it will sink a hole in their net income. After the update, they will be using the same amount of money for expenses but the sales price will have to be lowered to compete with the bonds. So basically their cost of goods sold stays the same while they're gold price will drop down. It will give the smaller gold businesses a hard time and maybe even put them out of business but the bigger rwt businesses will still be up and running. Ultimately, there will always be people real world trading to acquire more gold to train their skills and enjoy the game.
