Saw this earlier today, looks like a cool idea. I don't know a lot of the electrical engineering behind making this work, but waterproofing / sealing the blocks / making sure different blocks all have universal systems sounds intense. I wonder if phone companies would be willing to work together, as the video suggests

Won't happen, all the bits by itself will be too expensive, and it will take ages to write software for interchangeable parts.
