Julia: Tell us a bit about yourself


Gasp: Well, I work a bunch with computers, I consider myself a moderately advanced programmer. My preference is web-based languages, but I still do others, such as Java.


Julia: Are you studying computers?


Gasp: I will when I go into College.


Julia: What do you do for fun, make programs?


Gasp: Well, for fun I hang out with my friends, and yes, write computer programs. What I write ranges from IRC bots to fully functional websites.


Julia: Have you been a part of creating our IRC or anything similar?


Gasp: Not the current version, but Andy has requested an updated version of the bot. I'm not sure if he likes what I have, my ideas, etc. yet, but I'm hopefully going to find out today


Julia: Hopefully he likes it What are some flaws you see and want to improve
in the IRC?


Gasp: Well, I haven't seen any personally, but I've heard from some of the older hosts that the current events system is broken/horrible.


Julia: Haha How did you join Cora Dyce?


Gasp: I found it mid-2011, was a noob (still am), and wanted to make some fast cash. Joined the forums, left like 2-3 times, but I came back each and every time. The community is pretty good and that's what kept me coming back.


Julia: How long did it take you to become host?


Gasp: Well, including the off-time, A bit over a year.


Julia: Do you think it’s worth it ?


Gasp: It is worth it if you don't spend your whole time here just trying to get it. If you actually gamble, stay for the community, etc. then it's much less wasted time.


Julia: Totally agree What are some of the best parts of being a recruit? (1 banana)


Gasp: Well, the fact that it's easy to be maxed out, and at first, the feeling is really nice. The same can sort of be said for 2 banana ranks, though.


Julia: Lol Do you have any things going on IRL atm?


Gasp: I've been extremely busy with school. Got accepted into a public school that accepts around 170-220 students a year (including old ones). Have to wake up by 6am to be there on time, but oh well


Julia: So early Haha, do you still have time to host or will you be less active?


Gasp: I will have more time after I get used to having a different sleep cycle, but until then I won't be hosting much/at all.


Julia: Hmm ok, well, how did you come up with the name Gasp?


Gasp: Well, it's been my name since '04. My original login, for my first account. I honestly don't remember how I came up with it, though.
