    Post by James 2012-04-29, 22:08

    Hi there my favourite people,

Basically, I am wanting to enter Jojo's new giveaway to make a video/picture to represent Cora Dyce. The problem is, I cannot edit videos. I am probably the worst person to ask.. But still... You gotta be in it to win it.

I need some help on how I would add music to a video, and how I put text in the video. My idea is to get as many of the Cora Dyce community to dance. At the start I want to put something like "Why do so many people join Cora Dyce? Is it the Massive Giveaways, and the Daily Drops? Is it the millions of gp that can be made? Or is it..., just is it... Our Amazing Dancing Moves. *funny music plays* --- *hosts dance*

    Thankyou Razz

Do you have a Mac or a PC?

Assuming you have a PC, the things you want to do just require Windows Movie Maker which is very easy to use and should be pre-installed. I'm sure there are a bunch of video guides out there if you need help.

    Windows Movie Maker

    Music
Click File, and then click Import Media Items.

Browse to the file that you want to add, and then click the file. You can import audio files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma.

    Click Import.

Drag the music file to the Audio/Music track of the timeline.

Use the preview monitor to preview the accompanying video, and then drag the audio track to the right or left to better synchronize the audio and video, if needed. The pointer turns into a hand when you click the audio file, indicating that you can move it. Right click to adjust volume.

    Words
If you know where you want the title or credit to appear in your movie, click that location on the storyboard/timeline.

Click Tools, and then click Titles and Credits.

Click the link that corresponds to where you want to add the title or credit.

In the Enter text for title box, type the text that you want to appear as the title or credit.

After you type the text, the monitor displays the default animation and format for the title or credit you want to add.

To change the title animation, click Change the title animation, and select a title animation from the list.

To change the font and color for your title, click Change the text font and color, and then choose the font, font color, formatting, background color, transparency, font size, and position of the title to your liking.

    iMovie

    Music
Open iMovie. Click on "File," then "Open Project" and select the project to which you wish to add music.

Click on the audio tab. This is the tab with the icon that looks like a speaker. The audio interface will pop up. This will automatically trigger iMovie to sync up with iTunes.

Browse through your music collection and select the music you wish to incorporate into your movie.

Drag the selected audio file into an empty spot in the timeline viewer.

Click on "View-Show Audio Waveforms." This will enable you to see the audio file in its wave format. This makes it easier to find specific sections of music without having to listen to the file.

Find the area where you want to cut the audio and place the playhead there.

Click "Edit - Split Selected Audio Clip at Playhead." This will automatically split the audio clip into two separate clips. Continue to do this until you create a segment that you wish to use.

Delete the extraneous segments by clicking on them and pressing delete.

Move the audio clip to the proper position with respect to the rest of the movie.

    Words
Open the video file you want to edit in iMovie.

Click the "Titles" button on the lower toolbar. "Titles" is located in the middle of the toolbar between "Audio" and "Transitions."

Select a title style from the list of style options. If you click on a style option, iMovie will display a preview of the style in the "Preview" box.

Choose your text style. You can choose from a variety of font styles, as well as adjust the color and size of your text.

Adjust the timing options for your title text. You can adjust the speed in which the title will enter and exit the screen and the length of time the title will remain on screen. When you are satisfied with the style aspects of your title, click "Update."

Click on the created title and drag it into the clip viewer, placing it onto the clip on which you want the title sequence to display.
