Can you look into adding a reputation feature the forums, whereby users can give rep to or take rep from other users based on the quality of their posts?

Solutions to Problems
Feel free to add your own reasons for and against - I will try to keep the least up to date. If you post a reason against - see if you can't think of a way to counter that argument; naturally there are counter arguments to ever "Reason For" so no need to least them.

Reasons For:
- Hopefully it will prevent people from coming on our forums and just spamming the crap out if it so their post count looks better when they apply for host
- Even if people do spam a lot (we do have a Spam Forum afterall), users can still see how much of what people write is actually constructive and helps the community
- This will be very helpful when people apply to become hosts - those who take the time to genuinely help the community and make it better can in general be more trusted than those who don't
- Hopefully it will motivate people to just be nicer to others, and eliminate 'trolling'
Reasons Against:
- People could just end up giving/taking rep to people like like/hate just to suck up/troll (lol @ sentence construction
) - I would not be suprised if friends tag team together to just boost their rep on their own to make themselves look better
- People may make spam accounts to mass +/- rep
Solutions to Problems
- Limit the amount of rep a person can give to just 1-10 a day (or any reasonable number)
- Limit the number of times a person can give rep to another specific person to 1-3 times a day (or any reasonable number)
- Limit one account per IP address
- Set forums so that posts in Spam Forum and Introduction Forum do not count towards total post count
- Take post count out altogether, and just have a 'Thanks' feature instead
- ^^ The above solutions are dependant upon the amount of control the forums themselves afford the owners - they may or may not be possible I don't know ^^
