I grew up with it... too short? switch to "playlist" mode. pop your "shorts" into playlist, make a few duplications and you have a song. be sure to check "song" or whatever during playback.

I have long since grown out of fl studio and moved onto Ableton's Live. I use ableton live for my daily professional business. nonetheless i probably know enough about flstudio to give u some pointers. I can answer any questions you have for free

If you step sequencer is too short... You should see a box in the upper left hand corner right beside two arrows that look like <- -> scroll up in the box to the right off that until you get to 8 or 16 bars (preferably 16).. It's the grey box and when you highlight it, it says "Beats per bar for this pattern".... PLEASE let me know if you got any more questions.. No charge
