Mod MMG gone - Increase in MTX

So MMG gave his notice over a year ago and was put on garden leave for the last year of his contract. Since this time, micro-transactions have grown past the point of annoyance to where they are being spammed by NPCs throughout the world and even sent via spam emails to RS players. On the back of a horrible financial year (http://www.insidermedia.com/insider/central-and-east/126853-profits-plummet-online-games-giant-turns-focus-investment/), I wonder the direction that the game will actually take.

A news post was recently uploaded by Mod Mark suggesting the updates for 2015 will mostly be in the hands of the players - a tactic they tried last year to try keep people interested in their game and invest money in it.

Personally I haven't played the game 'properly' for a number of years. What are you guys thoughts on the direction RS is headed?

what made the game so great was how minimal it is.The worst thing is when they sold out to that Insight Venture Partners which they required shit like squeal of fortune and allowed people to dump 1,000 dollars to runescape and get 99 in only <6.5m exp instead of 13m

I'm not suggesting that it's dieing, I'm stating that the game has become a joke in the sense that people can so easily have an advantage if they have large amounts of real life money they wish to spill in to the game and that the companies on the board have taken a back seat in furthering the game to a point where it seems JaGeX is sick of thinking of the ideas and they let the community do it instead (not necessarily a bad thing, but lazy)
