Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once said, “If in one hundred years I am known only as the man who invented Sherlock Holmes, then I will have considered my life a failure.” ...Whoops.

He did have some other great books. For example, Mystery at Cloomber Hall was a short novel that did not involve Sherlock Holmes. Doyle loved the supernatural and was upset he couldn't include the occult in the Holmes short stories so he made this novel revolve around the occult. I strongly suggest you guys read this if you're into mystery novels. Smile

I would say that the creation of Sherlock Holmes was a more valuable contribution than anything that 99% of people will contribute throughout their life.
