Something needs to get done about griefers. Because i don't feel like building a massive house or whatever and having someone come along who thinks it's "fun" destroying all your work and effort. Just please start punishing griefers.

Steps on how to not be effected by Griefers
    1. Find a remote location
    2. Don't share the location with people you don't trust
    3. After you make something nice, Ask me to save it. If someone destroys it - I can pop it back up instantaneously.
    4. Start packing many diamond sets and weapons so you can defend yourself. Brew instant health & Strength pots.

What can I do to prevent a cave from being destroyed?

rather than give tips to avoid griefers, why don't you just erase the problem completely by making griefing against the rules? Griefing is malicious, Cora takes pride in it's community so what do we want malicious, vindictive people for? Anyone who takes pleasure in ruining something that someone else has taken time over and is proud of, is not the kind of person who we should want to attract. So why side with those people, over the victims?
