Fucking get rid of them.
One moderator usergroup is enough.
Just one.
Instead, we have:
http://www.coradyce.com/g16-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g21-dicing-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g22-Rs-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g23-off-topic-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g25-irc-support
http://www.coradyce.com/g27-scam-section-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g28-voluntary-moderator
http://www.coradyce.com/g29-voluntary-moderator (lol...)
http://www.coradyce.com/g42-market-moderator
and prolly more...
The problems that arise, have arisen and will arise as a result of having specific mods for specific sections:
- The combined domain of mods who are actually active and do shit is minimal and does not encompass sufficient sections, and this permits rampant spam* to occur.
- If the forum owner is inactive/doesn't pay much attention to activities that don't earn him money, then attributing mods to some sections will be overlooked and anything posted there will stay there. This has happened a number of times and remains a constant threat.
- A mod may have an 'affinity' for a particular section. Restricting them to other sections will prevent them from realising/applying their potential.
The benefit(s) of this system:
- If an IRC Support mod goes haywire, not much will happen. An off-topic mod, however...
As this has never happened and mods are chosen on their loyalty/dedication/sense/brown-nosing and a forum can be easily restored... it's largely irrelevant. Also, no mod is part of a single usergroup, making the proposed benefit redundant.
~ more will be added to each when/if turns on. ~
tl;dr - it's just cluttered and unnecessary, and causes more problems than it's worth.
Making Christina a mod of every section will solve the problem.
