Problem with Steam ~ Need help

so I downloaded and Installed Portal 2 (11gb) onto my computer about 2 weeks ago. and it worked fine until today, when I load steam it says I havent installed it and I need to install it again, but I didnt delete it the first time, because after I installed portal 2 the first time i had 2gb of space left on my computer, and I still have 2gb of space left on my computer. Pls help? I already have it but it says i dont have it and wont let me play it

Ok so I even found the files on my computer of Portal 2. I went to ApplicationSupport/Steam/SteamApps/common/

and found the Portal 2 folder with everything in it, and I made sure it was 11gb, now how do I make Steam know that I actually still have the game?

Delete Steam then Re-Install? Or Delete Portal 2 and re-install? Because my internet is shit and its like a 6 day download.

I tried to but It says I dont have enough disk space. I need 11gb and I only have 2gb left, (Computer HDD is 40gb or 50gb btw). And I need all the shit that I've already got on my computer. But I dont understand becuase Ive already got the game in the Steamapps files on my computer -.-

I deleted steam and re-installed it, still didnt work, my best option now is to delete Portal 2 and re-download it? or what
