During my 5 months at recruit, I would often stay up throughout the night hosting wagers and being as good of a host as I could be, and because of these all nighters and very-very-late nighters, I was able to become great friends with a large part of the hosting team who I otherwise would rarely have the chance to talk to, such as Zemlyr, Xine, Aaron, Doodle, LFK, Vabz, and Wisely. Staying up late with these friends made going to sleep so difficult because I truly felt welcomed and loved, and had friends surrounding me as we all talked freely in PM, in game, and in the IRC. One of my greatest friends who I have ever met here, Pario, and I used to play chess against each other all through the night while I was hosting and on one occasion, we really couldn't decide who would start off as white and black. So, with Xine's help, we each placed a 1 gp wager on Xine, with the winner being white for the game. I won (of course, as it was under 1m and I am a sucker for losing the big bets) and the game began. This particular chess game took over three hours and twenty minutes to finish, with me playing at my absolute highest level, and with me hosting wagers simultaneously, I was getting exhausted. I began to bet, and by the end of the chess game, I had won my first game vs Pario (who is much better than me) and had lost 75M betting. But I still felt like a winner that night. The people I have had the honor of getting to know and becoming friends with has truly made me a happier person and has allowed me to share so many experiences with them, that are not solely dicing related. And I have Cora Dyce to thank for my experiences, with this just being one of them. Thank you all for being here for me, and with good fortune, I will do my best to be here for you as well, to make this forum and community a great, happy, welcoming and fun place to be.
Love,
Ryan
