And I don't want to jump the gun here, but, 30 minutes after I was scammed, he messaged me telling me that he was going to pay me back. Now he's on vacation for one week, but he told me I would have my money in 1-2 weeks maximum. I'm not going to invest emotion into something like that but it seems as though he's making an honest effort to pay me back.

And it seems like there was a haze of conusion, this is what happened.

OT: I understand why you TT people since you want to be sure they can actually be trusted and you want them to feel as you trust them.
But being scammed in a game by who you taught was your friend is just ridiculous. Sorry for you loss, but afterall you'll make it back soon enough.
