Never had the chance to watch it because other shows are on at the exact same time. 
Although my friend has the whole 1st season on a hard drive, do you recommend that I get it off him?

Felt like this needed a bump because I was just searching through here to find a good show. This show is awesome. Basically if you like Batman you'll love it because it's the same concept except the "hero" uses a bow and arrow and there's a deeper background to him as well.

New episode tomorrow!
I kind of wish I read the comics, but at the same time I'm glad I didn't.
When I watch it in the online streams I always see people talking about these new superheros and it makes me feel kind of clueless as to what's happening. Like the Flash...and Slade as **** in the episode a few weeks ago (or was it last week?).

Yeah ^ there are some things in Arrow that I didn't understand like that one episode where Barry becomes the Flash. I never knew what it was until I read the comments. I felt kind of clueless, but at the same time, I'm glad I didn't read them because I always like surprises in the plot of Arrow.
