Re: GG GAMBLING LOLOL
Will only remove people doing flower games, and egg duels at most.
As far as IRC gambling goes, still will occur.

Also, I do want to point out that they are doing this to eliminate scammers. Since we don't scam, there is no reason to fear. Again this post refers to FLOWER GAMES ONLY

The future of flower games? You decide...
Hi All,
As mentioned in the BTS article this month, I’ve been keen to chat with you about flower games and the similar “game of chance” activities that some players host in the grand exchange. So far I’ve had some great conversations live in game, with all sorts of clans and individual players, and I thought it about time to start up a forum conversation about it too.
The question is simple: What should we do about these games? Right now, they can be very disruptive – leading to spamming and scamming. Several of the clans associated with the games are also directly linked to gold farmers, botters and real world trading – which are all against our rules.
However, there is clearly a desire from some players for this type of gameplay; otherwise there wouldn’t be any of it going on. It certainly dominates the grand exchange in many worlds, and that’s just not what the place was designed for.
I’m really keen to know your opinions on this. There are a range of different options available to us, and I am sure there are several more that we haven’t considered yet. If you’ve got any of your own thoughts on this matter, we’d love to hear them.
Feel free to reply to this post with your own ideas on what we should (or shouldn’t) do about this growing issue.
We could, for example, do any number of the following things:
•Make any involvement in player run “games of chance” against our rules – creating a new rule to allow the pmods and ourselves to mute the people advertising these games and allow us to issue bans to anyone actually participating in flower games etc.
•Change the content itself to remove the “random chance” element of things like flowers, classic capes, seal emotes, egg emotes etc. This would mean that players couldn’t use those sorts of items to play these games with
•Add “safe” alternative games, run by NPC’s, to allow players to engage with this sort of gameplay without the risk of being scammed.
•Do nothing at all!
•Something else…
What do you think? I look forward to reading your ideas and responses over the weekend and I’ll make some more posts on Monday.

It depends what Jagex decide to do. Two of the options they state on the thread will lead to CD dying.
And then look at the response they get >.>

Re: GG GAMBLING LOLOL
Even if they use NPC's, they still cannot eliminate dicing completely. Sorry about your luck Jagex.
There will always be a way to develop more dicing games as long as the market exists for gambling.
Since we do NOT support RWT, then hosts should NEVER sell rs gold.
At ALL.
Period.
That way, these kind of issues don't occur.
K?

Re: GG GAMBLING LOLOL
When they do a drastic one of these measures, watch it hit their game equally as hard as when they introduced EOC.
The only reason they are putting it to the opinion of the players, unlike before the EOC, is because the EOC killed the player base.. This would ultimately ruin their entire games player base = them losing money = that's why they ask us in the first place.
I'd say a safe bet is at least 20% of current players are gambling full time on Rs. They log in solely to gamble/host and nothing else, so if Jagex removes this gg more players.

False, most players want gambling gone, it ruins the economy and they lose more players, theyll just lose some gamblers but more people will start to join.

1. Gambling -> Ruined Economy -> Players quitting
Rs has had a failure of an economy for a long time before the advent of gambling and I doubt this has been ruining their player-base. So gambling won't have an effect in this regard. If anything, it cleans players and these people are likely to quit.
Anyway, it's rares and the game's mahoosive inflation that is ruining the economy...
2. Removal of Gambling -> Increase in players
Lol? If they remove gambling, Rs will just have lost a perk = players quitting. The current players do not quit solely because of gambling or how it supposedly ruins the economy. Nor will new players join or old players rejoin when they see no form of player-based gambling is present in the game. It is other updates, such as the two new skills and the game's move to HTML5, that will attract players.
