Banning for grave digging is really unnecessary. Why can't all topic that were made a certain amount of time ago be deleted or locked. If you're not even allowed to post on them now, there is no need to keep the topics open

You obviously have never used any forums besides these. They usually hand out infractions that compile into temp/perm bans, but I don't have those tools and this gets people's attention.
It is necessary because it ruins the character of these forums. The oldest untouched post in spam was from back in July (all the May-June were grave-dug).
