Introducion
Here's another guide from Host Luke (me). This time, my guide is about Hunter skill. Hunter is a great way to make your first 50m+. You also get a nice cape, which you can trim with example. Cooking. Hunter is 2-3 month thing for normal player. If nolifed, it takes less than one month. I've reached 99 hunter with this exactly same way. It's a tough road, but im sure you will make through it.
Requirements
- Member-status
- 10k-50k
- Lots of time
- One shortbow WITHOUT arrows
- Priest In Peril quest (done)
- Lost City quest (done)
- Ropes and Small Fishing Nets
Getting stuff to start with
Your going to start with account, who has 10k-50k, Ring of Dueling and a shortbow without arrows. Rub your Dueling ring, and teleport to Castle wars. Walk from Castle Wars to Yanille (east), which is not far from Castle wars. Go to Hunter Store. Buy 5 Bird snares and 20 box traps. Bank them, and go back to shop buy ropes, if you don't have them. Then, teleport to Lumbridge. Go to Fishing store, and buy Small Fishing Nets as many as you can. Now teleport back to Castle Wars, with your Dueling ring.
Starting Hunter
Walk from Castle Wars to East Feldip Hills beach with your Bird Snares. Stop, when you find red birds called "Crimsom Swifts". Lay a Bird Snare, and wait for a bird to go on it. If bird stops hanging on your trap, congratsulations. You've just caught your first bird. Repeat this, until your Hunter level is 19. After you've reached 19 Hunter, you need to fing Tropical Wagtails. They can be found near that lake (south one). Lay a Bird snare, and catch one Wagtail. Repeat, till your Hunter level is 29.
So far, your doing great! Let's keep going. Right now, you need to find Swamp Lizards. Before that, go buy full Larupia for nice and useful Hunter outfit. These little lizzies are located South-East Canifis. Go there with 5-10 Ropes and Small fishing nets in your inventory. Find a empty world for maxium experience/hour. Now, look for these little "Sticks" pointing to sky. Click them, and your character makes a trap. Wait for Swamp Lizard to go on it to catch it. If your trap fails, your Rope and Small fishing net stays on floor. Make sure you pick them up. Catch these lizards until your 49 Hunter level. You can keep the lizards if you want more profit, or you can just let them go (release). At 49 Hunter, you can keep break from Hunter, so you wont get bored. Or if you want, just keep going.
Now you need to get some Waterskins (example. from Shantay Pass.)and go to Desert. Find an area with those same "Sticks" pointing to sky. If you found them, there should be little Orange Salamanders on ground. Start catching them, same way as Swamp Lizards. Don't keep Orange Salamanders. They cost nothing, and bank is far away. Don't stop until your 59 Hunter. You can also stop at 53 and go Hunt Chinchompas. They are located near Piscatoris.
You must be serious, for coming this far. Your doing good! With 59 Hunter, your going to need Ropes and Small fishing nets again. This time, you also need Dueling ring. Teleport to Castle wars, and go North. Your looking for Red Salamanders. They are located near Observatory and Zamorak altar (known from Runecrafting). Catch those Salamanders until your level 63 Hunter. If you've done all this in one day, you need to take a break. Because next thing, you cannot do in one day. Not even in one month.
This is the hardest part. Go back to Castle Wars. Bank/drop your Ropes and Small Fishing Nets and withdraw Box Traps. Go along the same way you went to your first birds Crimsom Swifts. This time, stop near a lake. If you found the right lake, there are "Red Chinchompas" running East side of it. (Check the second picture) Place Box traps in a "square" formation. Try to place your traps near spawn locations. Like this:

Your shortbow is now needed. If you accidentally click one Red Chinchompa, your character kills it. With shortbow (no arrows) it won't attack before you wear arrows. At 80 Hunter, you can place 5 traps which makes hunting chins faster. Place your 5 traps like this:

At 98 Hunter, don't level your last level. Just take as much as xp you can, until you have 500k Hunter experience remaining. Now, your going to go Hunt Implings (Dragon, Magpie, Kingly, Nature and Pirate Implings. These Implings are very profitable. With Implings, you DOUBLE your profit from Hunter. Implings can be found from Zanaris. Equip a butterfly net, and buy 100 impling jars. Fill your inventory with Impling jars and go to Wheat field, the center of Zanaris.
For detailed Impetuous Impulses-minigame guide, go to http://www.runehq.com/guide.php?type=minigame&id=0891. If you did ALL this, Congratsulations, you've just achieved your 99 Hunter! Go sell your Red Chinchompa stack and your implings for the profits and go get the skill cape. Enjoy your 99 Hunter.
PS: This guide is 100% made by myself. Just pictures are taken from somewhere else (Runepoli.org).
