Here I will give scenarios which I will will let you decide which 5 egg pattern is better.

It seems ABC rule is not put into full effect overall in egg poker, example:

    yellow-pink-polka-yellow-yellow vs red-yellow-yellow-green-red

The second pattern described here has won in terms of abc, here is why:

If we arrange them in strength order:

    yellow-yellow-yellow-pink-polka vs yellow-yellow-yellow-green-red

since they both tie under 3oak, some hosts just re-poker but, really the second guy won here because after the 3oak he has a green whilst the first guy has a high pink. In terms of ABC green>pink.

    Other scenarios:

    blue-red-pink-blue-polka vs blue-blue-yellow-red-green

    pink-polka-pink-blue-polka vs pink-polka-pink-polka-green

    red-red-yellow-polka-red vs red-pink-polka-red-red

    green-green-blue-green-green vs green-green-green-green-pink

Let me know what you think.

Its not a bad idea, but i think that If you changed the rules to that, it will make Egg poker and Egg duels more similar. In Flower poker there is no high and low pairs, and that's because there are less chances of getting the same color.
If people choose poker they may choose it for strategic reasons, if they have been getting a lot of Yellows/reds. If we add this then it will be a different game and it will also make it more confusing. Although it was a good idea i still have to disagree with your suggestion.

Indeed, we got ABC egg and Egg Poker,
I feel the rules now just seem fine.
