Ok well everyone knows the more money you have, the easier it is to get more! So here are some ideas to start you guys off! Unfortunately most of these are p2p
1. Herblore Secondary farming: Basically this method just involves collecting high demand items in bulk and selling on the GE. A beast of burden familiar and appropriate teleports increase your profits significantly. Income range from this method: 200k-1m/hour depending on current prices and what Beast of Burden you have available.
Items to farm:
Blue dragon scales (my favorite, but 70+ agility required for maximum profit)
Potato Cacti
Unicorn Horns
White Berries
Snape Grass
Mort Myre Fungi
2. Barrows!!!
Required Stats: 75+ mage, 75+ def
I love barrows, and make an average profit around 1.5m/hour at barrows. The best method I have found is mage tanking with melee gear for karil and dhides/karil for ahrim. Mage tanking involves using your best spell with high def bonus melee gear (guthans) to prevent getting hit. Using this method, you use maybe 1 or 2 sips of prayer potion per reward chest loot. Using guthans for your melee gear helps in that you need significantly less food because you can heal on monsters in the crypt assuming you have decent melee stats.
Another option for barrows with lower requirements is ancient magic. I would recommend at least 82 magic for ice blitz. The benefit of ancient magic is that you don't need prayer for any melee brothers assuming you freeze them correctly, and you can bring blood blitz to heal.
I have found with the new ring of wealth update, average barrows item/chest ratio is one barrows item for every 6-7 chests looted. To achieve 1.5m/hour at barrows you must be extremely efficient, i would say an average barrows profit is around 600-800k/hour assuming you use fire wave+.
3. Slayer!
Especially since the new rare drop table was released, slayer has become a very decent way to make money while training combat. With a ring of life, I (135 combat with rapier and maxed str bonus gear) make around 400k/hour slaying. Some general advice I would give for slayer profit making is:
-pick up ANYTHING noted. Most monsters drop noted items for a reason, so you can collect a lot of them! Unless its like 100gp- per drop, I'd definitely pick it up.
-ALWAYS wear a ring of wealth. The ring of wealth now enables you to receive additional drops not normally obtainable from monsters. These drops can be up to 3m, and are definitely a good reason to wear a ring of wealth.
-Prayer: If you have 95/70 prayer, turmoil/piety may be used at your discretion. The only monsters that I have found significantly increased killing speed ( and therefore increased profit ) on are metal dragons, or generally anything over 150 combat.
-Clue Scrolls: I always do my clue scrolls, and I do factor these into my slayer profit. More in next section.
3. Clue Scrolls!
Clue scrolls have been one of my favorite money making methods since their release. It's very hit or miss profit, so I cannot easily put a number on it. Even level 1 (easy) clue scrolls can get you 6m+ rewards, and are worth doing! With the new ring of wealth update making it affect clue rewards, a unique reward item is ALWAYS rewarded when you finish a trail with a ring of wealth on. 50% or more of the time the unique reward is meerkat pouches or scrolls, or those biscuits, but other rewards are given often also.
Obtaining Clues:
(easy) Level 1 clues: Men, Goblins other things drop them, but these are the best droppers by far.
(medium) Level 2 clues: Guards, Ice Warriors, once again others drop them, but I have found these are the best.
(Hard) Level 3 clues: Jellies, Metal Dragons, Abyssal Demons, Waterfiends.
(Elite) Level 4 clues: Nothing drops these often, try steel dragons for one eventually
The drop rate for level 1,2, and 3 is generally under 40 kills of one of these monsters. Assuming you can obtain and complete 2-3 clues an hour, I would ESTIMATE the profit for this method as follows:
(Easy) - 200k/hour
(Medium) - 250k/hour
(Hard) - 400k/hour
(Elite) - N/A because they are not easily obtainable, but their rewards are generally 1m+.
Thanks for reading guys!
More to come soon, and feel free to post how you make money!
